About
Hopui exists because the buying advice for home wellness equipment is unusually bad, and the products are unusually expensive.
The problem we started with
Search for a massage chair and you will find hundreds of pages ranking products by whichever affiliate programme pays best, padded with invented testing hours to make the ranking sound earned. Meanwhile the products cost up to £2,000, weigh well over 100kg, and cannot meaningfully be returned once they are up your stairs. That combination — high stakes, low-quality information — is the gap Hopui was built to fill.
Our answer is not to claim a testing lab we do not have. It is to do the comparison work properly across the whole category, weight the evidence that actually exists — specification, price history, and the depth of real customer feedback — and be exact about where every figure came from. A guide that tells you its own limits is more useful than one that pretends it has none.
What we cover
Things you sit in, sleep on, and live with: massage chairs and recovery gear first, then zero-gravity recliners, percussion devices, and heated bedding. We would rather publish one guide we are certain of than a category a month we are not.
Who writes it
Leslie Wu — Founder & editor, Hopui.Leslie has written about home wellness equipment since 2020, and built this guide by comparing every full-body massage chair listed on Amazon UK on specification, price history, and verified-purchase feedback.
How we stay independent — and what we don't claim
No brand pays for placement, sees a draft, or reviews a ranking. The site is funded by affiliate commissions that are effectively flat across the products we cover, which is the structural reason our rankings have nothing to gain from steering you toward the expensive option.
Just as important is what we are not: these guides are desk research, not hands-on testing. We compare every listing in a category on specification, price history, and customer feedback — we do not have these products in a room. Every guide says so at the top, every specification is labelled as the manufacturer's claim, and every star rating is labelled as Amazon's rather than ours. If we start testing directly, we will say that too.
The details are on how we research and theaffiliate disclosure. Both are worth two minutes before you trust a recommendation from us — or from anyone else.
What we are not
We are not clinicians, and nothing we publish is medical advice. Massage chairs are consumer products, not treatments. If you have a condition that a massage chair might affect, the person to ask is your doctor, not a review site.
